We can help you find a position at your professional level in a variety of different settings including community, government and hospital placements.
We ensure you are fully prepared for working in the UK and provide an extensive package of guidance and benefits, including:
- A dedicated consultant experienced in international recruitment, immigration, qualification verification and UK social work practice.
- Assistance with visa applications, references, police checks, registration applications and opening a UK bank account.
- A training manual designed specifically for overseas candidates.
- Transport from the airport and three nights’ accommodation if required.
Changing Direction
Social work employers in the UK prefer to recruit professionals experienced in their field. If you are considering a change of direction and are looking to develop skills outside your area of expertise, amicus recruit provides a mentoring and career coaching service to help you make that next career move.
Registration Requirements
Every social worker wishing to practice in the UK must register. In England, you will need to register with the General Social Care Council (GSCC).
You can only legally practice as a qualified social worker once you have received your certificate of confirmation from the GSCC. The application for professionals qualified overseas is detailed and requires some preparation – amicus recruit offers advice and support on completing your application.
Please contact us for more information about the process and how our trained and experienced consultants can assist you.
If you are planning to work in Scotland, Wales or Ireland you will need to make an application to the appropriate councils in those countries – further information is available on the GSCC website.
